Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg was influential in large part because she was an exceptional communicator. On January 6 at 5:30 PM, join us on Zoom to discuss this pioneering Supreme Court Justice and the ways in which she inspired our members & guests to speak up and embrace leadership roles in their own lives. The evening will feature brief discussions with:
-
-
- Jane Sherron De Hart, author of the first ‘full life’ biography of RBG, UC Santa Barbara history professor emerita
- Ret. CA Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson, on how RBG inspired her as a lawyer & lawmaker
-
AWC-SB members & guests are encouraged to join the conversation to share their observations of RBG and how she inspired them. Conversations will happen both as a group and in small breakout rooms. No matter what field you’re in, thinking about what she accomplished and how she did it is an ideal way to kick off a new year!
Things are different this year! Because we’re meeting on Zoom, you’re invited to read Ruth Bader Ginsberg: A Life (available at Chaucer’s Books) and/or watch the film RBG in the comfort of your home before January 6th. Then, meet us on Zoom on January 6, at 5:30PM for the discussion on RBG. We’ll have a brief discussion about the movie together then go into breakout rooms for mingling and networking.
