Books For Breakfast Summer 2022

AWC-SB presents Books for Breakfast, an informal summer discussion group of books of interest to communicators. Two no-host events are taking place from 7:30-9 a.m. on July 13 and August 10 at Renaudโ€™s Bakery, 1324 State St, Santa Barbara (across from the Arlington Theatre). Meetings are no-host (you buy your own beverage/breakfast).ย

If you donโ€™t have time to read the book, come anyway. Weโ€™ll summarize and have talking points, so discussion will be lively!ย ย ย

Wed. August 10: Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus (novel)โ€œLaugh-out-loud funny, shrewdly observant, and studded with a dazzling cast of supporting characters, Lessons in Chemistry is as original and vibrant as its protagonist, a woman chemist in the early 1960โ€™s who winds up as the star of Americaโ€™s most popular cooking show. โ€œA kicky debut,โ€ according to Buzzfeed, โ€œthis book tackles feminism, resilience, and rationalism in a fun and refreshing way.โ€ Read more.
