Books For Breakfast Summer 2022

AWC-SB presents Books for Breakfast, an informal summer discussion group of books of interest to communicators. Two no-host events are taking place from 7:30-9 a.m. on July 13 and August 10 at Renaud’s Bakery, 1324 State St, Santa Barbara (across from the Arlington Theatre). Meetings are no-host (you buy your own beverage/breakfast).

If you don’t have time to read the book, come anyway. We’ll summarize and have talking points, so discussion will be lively!

In Digital Body Language, Erica Dhawan, a go-to thought leader on collaboration and a passionate communication junkie, combines cutting edge research with engaging storytelling to decode the new signals and cues that have replaced traditional body language across genders, generations, and culture. “ Read more.

Wed. August 10: Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus (novel)“Laugh-out-loud funny, shrewdly observant, and studded with a dazzling cast of supporting characters, Lessons in Chemistry is as original and vibrant as its protagonist, a woman chemist in the early 1960’s who winds up as the star of America’s most popular cooking show. “A kicky debut,” according to Buzzfeed, “this book tackles feminism, resilience, and rationalism in a fun and refreshing way.” Read more.
